After-care

The most important thing that goes into a successful cosmetic tattoo procedure is how well the client follows the aftercare procedure.

Procedure - there is a risk of infection and symptoms of infection, including, but not limited to, redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site to-wards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site.

In case of infection seek medical care and inform the technician.

The procedure area must be taken care of following the post-procedure instructions that were explained/send/given. Little adjustments to the instructions can be made based on the clients’ personal needs; I encourage communication during the whole healing period. (due to availability I prefer texts accompanied by pictures and a description of the perceived issue. I always do my best to respond in a timely manner and resolve any issue.)

How to care for eyebrows post-procedure

  • Day 1(procedure day): - for 2 hours post procedure, each 15 minutes, I recommend tapping the area with a dry tissue to prevent the accumulation and dryness of the lymph in the procedure area. After the initial 2 hours, I recommend washing the area with a hypoallergenic gentle foaming soap, clearing with a cotton pad and warm water, and dry with a tissue using a gentle tapping movement. Repeat the washing technique every 1-2 hours, until going to sleep.

  • Day 2 and 3: - we wash the procedure area using the same method as Day 1, in the morning and evening(before going to bed). After each procedure I recommend apply a small quantity of ointment that was handed at the end of the procedure.

  • Day 4 to 7: - is the period when we leave the procedure area to heal without washing or applying the ointment. It is the period in which, most likely, there will be small scabs that look more like gentle exfoliation.

  • Day 8: - wash the procedure area using the first 2 hours method from Day 1 in the morning, the proceed to your daily routine.

  • During these first 8 days the following are prohibited: - hot showers, makeup (on procedure area), extreme sweating/ exercising, swimming, tanning, hot sauna and Laser/Chemical/Botox Treatments.

It is essential NOT to peel off/break the scabs(if they form) and not to cover the area with a large amount of moisturizer/ointment or any other object.

Do not touch the procedure are with your fingers as they may have bacteria on them and create an infection.

We suggest Aquaphor because it tends to not cause inflammation, but if you are allergic, Vaseline will do just fine.

Do not use products that contain AHA’s on the procedure area as they will fade the color (Example: Glycolic, Lactic Acids)

Additional Instructions For Lips

  • Ice your lips every 30 minutes on the day of the procedure to prevent bruising & swelling.

  • Day 1 - Immediately following the procedure, lips will feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. They may appear swollen and bright in color.

For 4 hours after treatment, apply light pressure on lips with a clean paper towel, to remove any lymph. After 4 hours, start applying ointment (Aquaphor) as needed to keep lips constantly moist

  • Day 1-3 - Apply ointment on lips several times a day. Keep lips moist at all times. Avoid tooth paste (use mouth wash with a straw), oily, spicy and heavily seasoned food and drink with a straw. After every meal gently rinse and clean lips with water and pat dry, then re-apply ointment.

  • Day 4-7 - Between these days, lips will begin and end the process of peeling, and color will lighten by 30%-50%.
Do not pick or rub your lips and let the peeling happen naturally. Continue keeping your lips moist!
