Lamination services usually include eyebrow shape and design, making it all-inclusive.

The process of Eyebrow lamination
Even though the process has a similar base as a “perm“, different professional products will result in a diversity of processes. At WOAD Studio we use Thuya, a dedicated eyebrow company made with love in Barcelona, Spain. Thuya’s approach to lamination is a precise, but gentle one. Here is what the procedure looks like:
- First we do an allergy/ irritant patch test on the arm,
- Then the area is cleaned to make sure there is no makeup or oils.
- A protectant cream is apply 1/4 inch of your eyebrow to make sure the skin in protected
- Next Thuya Gel Permanente will be applied to the eyebrow and timed based on hair type and thickness.
- While waiting for the solution to mellow the keratin in the hair, we brush the eyebrows at timed intervals to direct the hair at the client’s desired angle.
- Once this part of the process is done, Thuya Neutralizer Cream is applied and occluded. During this time we offer an aromatherapy temple and head massage.
- After removing the neutralizer we can focus on on the design. This includes trimming, waxing or tweezing the eyebrows.
- With Thuya you get also get your eyebrows tinted at the end of the Lamination process, though tinting is not possible with all other lamination products.
- The last step is a nourishing regenerating cream to prevent skin dryness or irritation.
Overall the process is 1 hour long, depending on the technician. The procedure is not recommended at home with non-dedicated/professional products (regular perm)or sooner than 6 weeks in between. You might risk dryness, chemical burns and damage to your eyebrows. Another serious risk with non-professional procedures is eye damage.
If you are looking for long-lasting results to keep your eyebrows thicker, fuller and the hair on point, Lamination is definitely for you.
